National Resource Toolkit: Warm Line Directories. Need someone to talk to?

Need to talk to someone? (Warm Lines)
Warm lines were created to support people when they need to talk to someone. Speaking to someone on these calls is typically free, confidential, and run by people who understand what it is like to struggle with mental health problems.
What to know before you call
It is best to call a warmline in your state. If one doesn’t exist or is busy, you can try a warm line below in another state close to you that provides national service. Some lines limit the amount of time you can spend on a call. For example, they might tell you upfront that they can only speak to you for an hour. Others have unlimited time and do not stop conversations until you are ready.
When you call, they might ask for information, like where you are calling from. So that you know, all times of operation are listed according to the time zones where each warm line is located. If you call a warm line in a different time zone, pay attention to the change in time.
Warm lines are for support and can link you to a crisis hotline if you need support for suicidal thoughts or crises. If you are in crisis and do not need a warm line, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK or text “MHA” to 741-741 to talk to a trained counselor from the Crisis Text Line.
