Join GirlTREK for an NBA All-Star Weekend Walk!

This NBA All-Star WeekendGirlTREK and the NBA invite YOU to take a step toward total health. Celebrate self-care, sisterhood, and wellness with us in San Francisco’s beautiful Golden Gate Park. Whether you want to move your body, connect with powerful women, or just have a great time, this is your invitation!

Q1.  What is the GirlTREK x NBA All-Star Weekend Walk?
This is a special community walk in partnership with the NBA during NBA All-Star Weekend. We’re gathering in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park to celebrate joy, health, and sisterhood while recruiting the next generation of GirlTREK members.

 

Q2.  When and where does the walk take place?
The walk is on Sunday, February 16th, from 8 AM to 11 AM PT at Robin Williams Meadows in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA.

 

Q3.   Is there a cost to participate?
No! This is a free community event.

 

Q4.  Do I need to register in advance?
Yes, we encourage advanced registration using THIS LINK as there is limited capacity.

 

Q5.  Can I bring a friend or family member?
Absolutely! We ask every attendee to bring a young Black woman (ages 18-35) to experience the movement.

 

Q6.  I know a school, youth group, or organization that works with young Black women. How can they get involved?
We’d love to connect! Please reach out to Info@GirlTREK.org with details.

 

Q7.  What should I wear?
Comfortable walking shoes and layers for the weather. Bonus points if you rock your GirlTREK blue!

 

Q8.  What happens if it rains?
Rain or shine, we’ll still walk! We'll provide complimentary ponchos, but we suggest bringing an umbrella. 

 

Q9.   What will the event include?

  • A joyful walk through Golden Gate Park
  • Special guests and NBA All-Star Weekend talent
  • Free custom coffee drinks & a branded goody bag
  • A chance to help shape the future of GirlTREK
  • A community of inspiring Black women, partners, and friends

 

Q10.  How long is the walk?

The walk will be a leisurely-paced community walk designed for all fitness levels for a distance of 2.9 miles.

 

Q11.  Will there be food and drinks?
We’ll have complimentary custom coffee drinks and light snacks for attendees.

 

Q12. Will I be able to purchase GirlTREK gear?

No, but a complementary event t-shirt, will be provided at check-in.

 

Q13. What are the parking options?
The event occurs at Robin Williams Meadow in the southeastern part of Golden Gate Park. It is where Kezar Drive and Bowling Green Drive meet—public parking options are available at Kezar Drive, MLK Drive, Bowling Green Drive, and Nancy Pelosi Drive. Q14. I’m traveling to the event; is there a list of places to stay?

GirlTREK is not organizing accommodations for this event; please choose a lodging arrangement that works for you. 

 

Q15. Is the walk accessible?

Yes, but if you require specific accommodations, please contact Info@GirlTREK.org with your request at least 3 days before the event.
